Skip Clack’s Fishing Derby
The 31st Annual Wyandotte Fishing Derby is scheduled for June 2nd this year. As in past years, the Fishing Derby takes place during National Fishing Week and is a wonderful way to introduce children in our community to the sport of fishing.
This popular event typically draws over 200 participants for the derby, ranging from 5-13 years of age. Prizes and trophies are awarded for several categories, including longest fish, smallest fish, most fish caught, and most unusual item caught. In addition, every child receives a gift bag with miscellaneous coupons and gift certificates from local merchants including such things as small gifts, program flyers, movie passes and recreational and fast food coupons. The Fishing Derby is a wonderful event that brings families and the community together to enjoy a day of fishing and fun. For more information and to receive an application for the derby, please email events@wyan.org or stop by the Special Events Office at 2624 Biddle Avenue.
